Roccstar, whose real name is Leon Youngblood Jr is an American music producer, songwriter, composer, and rapper. He has produced songs for some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as JLo, Chris Brown, Rita Ora, Rihanna, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, etc.

Roccstar’s song “Rude” was featured in the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, which was nominated for a Grammy for best soundtrack in 2015.

Early life and career beginnings

Youngblood was born in San Diego, California, to his father, Leon Youngblood Sr., and his mother, Ginger Youngblood. He grew up with four other siblings Sharon Keiana Youngblood, Swakee Leon Reid, Skye Marie Gray, and Tenicia Bennett.

He attended the Visual and Performing Arts program in the high school he attended Hollywood High School.

From here, Roccstar’s music production career skyrockets. His first gigs were writing and producing multiple songs for Jennifer Lopez, Melissa Etheridge, and Rita Ora in 2013 and 2014.

In 2014, he worked with Chris Brown and wrote songs for his album “X” alongside Timbaland and Diplo.

He produced and wrote for big names in the music industry. His star-studded roster includes Usher, Rihanna, Prince Royce, Fergie, Post Malone, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige, and others. Some of the hit songs he has helped produce are “Fine China” by Chris Brown, “Clueless” by Usher, “Just Like You” by Fergie, "Zack and Codeine" by Post Malone, "Love Will Never" by Mary J. He produced 6 songs for Chris Brown’s 2022 album “Breezy.”
