Dolph Lundgren, born Hanz Lundgren, is a Swedish actor, director, and martial artist. Dolph Lundgren has a net worth of $18 million.
Dolph Lundgren was born on November 3, 1957, as Hanz Lundgren, in Stockholm, Sweden, to mother Sigrid Birgitta, a teacher, and father Karl Johan Hugo Lundgren, an economist and engineer for the Swedish government.
He spent his early childhood living with his parents in Stockholm, dreaming about becoming a musician or studying fine arts.
When he was in his early teen years, Dolph's parents divorced, so he moved in with his grandparents and his mother at their place in Taby, Sweden, where he started planning to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue an education in engineering.
While Dolph's grandparents enjoyed spending time with their grandbaby and coddled him as much as they could, his mother was pursuing another, more strict type of parenting.
When he was only ten years old, Sigrid enrolled her son in the Royal Swedish Navy Cadet School.

In his high school era, Dolph was doing excellent for himself. His grades were exceptionally high, and he somehow managed to do many extracurricular activities like judo, hockey, and weight training.
Because of this, Dolph managed to apply for and get many scholarships to excellent schools.
Before enrolling in college to study engineering at the Royal Institute Of Technology in Stockholm, Dolph took a mandatory year in the navy, where he had classes and constant training.
In an interview, Dolph expresses that he didn't like going to the navy school and wasn't doing well with his education.
Dolph was almost kicked out of school due to his poor grades, but just before this, he encountered the person who would alter his life: a military martial arts teacher.
This ultimately led to Dolph's involvement in martial arts, a move about to change his life, even though he didn't know it yet. Dolph became a world-class competitor in karate and earned a black belt in Kyokushin karate [1] .
After completing his year in the military, Dolph quickly moved to the United States, where he enrolled in the University of Washington and Clemson University to study chemical engineering.
After finishing his studies, Dolph was awarded a scholarship to the University of Sydney, Australia, to complete his Master's Degree in chemical engineering.
He, of course, took this fantastic opportunity and moved to Sydney, where he worked part-time as a bouncer and a security guard.
Dolph's future was looking so bright at this point in his life. After completing his studies at the University Of Sydney, he was offered another scholarship to one of the most prestigious science colleges in the United States, MIT [2] .
Dolph graciously refused this opportunity as he wanted to try and pursue a career in modeling and acting, and for all he knew, things were about to change drastically from this point on.

While working on his chemical engineering degree in Sydney, Dolph got hired as a bodyguard to a woman by the name of Grace Jones[], a famous Jamaican singer, model, and actress.
They would soon expand their relationship from professional to personal and start dating. The pair quickly moved to New York, the city that never sleeps.
At first, the young Swedish man was very uneasy and unsure about moving to such a big city with big crime rates, but soon enough, he got used to it and started working as a bouncer in nightclubs and as a part-time model.
Thanks to Grace Jones and her many connections, Dolph became quickly involved in the modeling and acting industry, so he decided that it was best to quit his studies, enroll in an acting school, and pursue modeling as a full-time job.
At this point, the young Jamaican model was about to start a role in the newest James Bond film and recommended Dolph for a minor role. She also advised him to legally change his name from Hanz to Dolph.
After getting a small screen time in this big movie, Dolph started getting more excited about the movie industry, sending his portfolio and auditioning almost regularly.
Between these many auditions and sent resumes was the legendary role in the fourth film about Rocky Balboa. The part he audited for was that of Ivan Drogo [3] , a Russian boxer and the main antagonist in the movie.
At first, the casting directors were against casting the young Swede because of his enormous figure, towering over Sylvester Stalone, who played Rocky.
But Dolph didn’t give up and sent his resume and boxer photos directly to the movie's star, Sylvester Stalone.
Dolph Lundgren became one of the most popular foes in the film industry. After his role as Ivan Drogo, the whole world wanted Dolph to star in their movies. The casting directors decided to give him another chance; the rest was history.

After his major breakthrough, Dolph instantly became a star. This didn’t sit well with his lover, Grace Jones, as she was the one that was the more famous one in their relationship.
She started getting even more jealous when Dolph decided to move to Los Angeles to focus on his career.
The jealousy got so bad that she broke into his hotel room and assaulted him with a gun. Dolph got lightly injured but didn’t press any charges.
