Michael Fred Phillips was born on June 30, 1985, in Baltimore, Maryland. Michael Phillips and his three brothers grew up in a neighborhood called Rodgers Forge. His father, Farid, was an athlete and soldier, and his mother Debbie was a middle school principal. When Phillips’ parents divorced in 1994, Michael and his siblings lived with his mother.
