Garrett’s poker journey and career

Garrett's closest friends and family say that his poker career started when he was 18. By 2005, he was already established as a name in the online poker circles.

At first, he thought that playing poker was fun, without realizing that one could build a career out of it.

He proceeded to play poker in his college years, and by the time he finished college, in 2008, he was recognized as an avid poker player in his surroundings.

That year, Garrett had tournaments and cashed in a handful of WSOP events[1]and one PCA[2]event as well. Actually, the PokerStars Caribbean tournament was Garrett’s first recorded tournament result, and with an $8,000 buy, he made $48,000.

In 2010, Garrett also succeeded in cashing the WSOP Main Event, and in 2016, he managed to also cash out around $97,000.

In 2011, online poker became illegal in America, and lots of online poker sites were withdrawn from the market. This changed the whole poker scene for Garrett, so he had to look for alternatives to be able to play.

It is how he realized that live poker could be the next great career decision, and it turned out to be a great one, bringing him success and fame.

So, in the following period, Garret played live cash games and became better at most live poker players across all stakes. He had played on many live-streaming games, such as Live and the Bike[3]and Hustler Casino Live[4] , and had amazing results.

Interesting Fact: Among other proficient poker players, Garret is considered to be the most feared one because he practices the deep stack poker strategy[5] , which usually covers the rest of the table.

Furthermore, Garrett was also a coach for the poker site “Run it Once” , which is one of the best online places to learn poker skills. However, his coaching job did not last long, and in 2014 he quit to focus on his own poker play.

In 2017, Garrett became part of the Live at the Bike crew, and around that time, the show reached its peak of popularity. In one of the plays, he won $459,000, and it was one of the biggest pots ever seen on live-streamed games in California.

Garrett still needs to win a WSOP bracelet, but he has plenty of time to prove that he is worthy of having it in the coming years. After all, his live cash winnings make up for it.
