D Smoke is an American Grammy-nominated rapper, signed to the EMPIRE Record Label.

He started making his name after appearing on the first season of the Netflix show “Rhythm + Flow.”

Early life

Not much is known about D Smoke’s early life. He grew up with his mother and brothers in Inglewood, California, where he would later work as a teacher. His mother was Tina Turner’s backup singer, and one of his brothers, SiR, is signed to Dawg Entertainment, belonging to well-known rapper Kendrick Lamar. In addition, his mother was a piano instructor, so D Smoke got the chance to learn how to play both the piano and the drums.^[1]
